Gym bag essentials

You can have anything you like in your fitness bag as long as it is related to fitness. These are some essential things that I would recommend must always be in your bag for a more satisfying gym day.

1. Water bottle : It is important for everyone to drink water, it helps the entire body system function properly. Water should be taken before and after your workout session. Doctors have recommended 8 glasses and more daily.

2. Towel : After a successful workout session you should be gushing sweat. Some would say, sweat is fat crying. Workout sweat is the good sweat but so is toweling it down, we don't want to leave the gym looking like someone just emptied a bucket on us. Having a towel is really important.

3. Slippers/flip flop : I always have slippers in my gym bag, it is probably not top five things to have for everyone but it is definitely top five for me. If you workout often or you want to start working out you might not like the hot and sweaty feeling your shoe and socks would bring after a workout session. Personally, I just want to switch that and wear my comfortable flips.

4. Workout log : People do not often do this but I do and I have witnessed it work first hand so I think it is rather smart to keep a workout log and timetable or workout-table. It could have different contents, I have about 2 types of workout log. One is to cancel out the days I already set aside to workout and the hours, the second log is for intense workout that I cannot finish at a stretch, so I just write out the time and the amount I survived. Lol. Not easy.

5. Timer : To keep a good workout log, a timer is needed. Also, timing yourself to complete a particular workout is good and it enables you to want to strive till the end of the time. A timer always works for me and I think it would benefit you.

6. Bandage : As much as this is not always necessary, you can't be too cautious. Have this as a regular just in case it is needed. You can just throw it in there and forget you have it until you need it or someone else does. You might just be a hero.

7. Equipments : This is optional because the gym you are about to hit already has equipments but you can decide to have your personal items if you do not like sharing because of other people's sweat or just personal hygiene. examples of items you can get personally - skipping rope, yoga mat, arm stretcher etc.

8. iPod and Earphones : music is very important when working out, okay maybe not for everyone but for me it is. It can help you get into the workout, give you rhythm, it can also help with focus and can give you that push you need to start your workout.

9. Sportswear : This comprises both the track suit, sport bra, hair band, sneakers, armband etc. I was going to write on complete sportswear but I wrote this instead. You can style it however you want, just in a way that makes you comfortable.

10. Comfortable shoes : Being comfortable is important as well as being balanced. Buy or get a shoe that has a soft and comfortable sole, do not rush this purchase so that you would not have to go back and get another.

You can also make a checklist of the items below. You can decide to have everything in your bag or not, totally optional.
